The OBDLink® app evaluates how your vehicle meets certain emissions standards for your state (vehicles in the United States only). Follow the steps in this article to select your state and review the monitor results.
Note: We recently updated the OBDLink app and made improvements to its features and how it looks. The icons on the app's home screen now have a yellow accent instead of blue (iOS) and green (Android) accents. This revised article matches the updated app’s screens and features. Download the latest version of the OBDLink app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to take advantage of the updated app's features and performance.
Before you begin, be sure to:
- Start your vehicle and connect your phone/tablet to your OBDLink adapter.
- Make sure your phone/tablet is not streaming to any other Bluetooth/BLE devices.
- Confirm that your phone/tablet is Connected to the OBDLink adapter.
- On the Home screen, tap Monitors.
iOS Android - You will see the I/M Readiness tab. Note: If you are not connected to your vehicle, no results are displayed.
Select the readiness standard for your state. Not all states have a readiness standard, so your state may not be in the list. The default readiness standard is None.
Tap Menu (iOS) or 3 vertical dots (Android) in the upper right corner to display the menu options, then tap Readiness Standard. - Select the readiness standard for your state and your vehicle's model year, then tap OK.
In the examples below, we selected an Arizona vehicle from 1996 and a North Carolina vehicle from 2012. - You will see a list of monitor test results. Scroll down to see the complete list.
Tap O2 Sensors to view the oxygen sensors tab.
Most vehicles with model years earlier than 2008 will show data here. Newer vehicles will show oxygen sensor data on the On-Board tab.Tap On-Board to display the on-board monitoring tab.
You will see a warning message similar to the one shown below. Tap Yes when you’re ready to continue.
