If you are having problems connecting your OBDLink® Bluetooth adapter (OBDLink MX+, OBDLink LX) to your computer running Windows 11, this guide is for you.

It is a simple three-step process:

  1. Change Bluetooth settings.
  2. Pair your adapter to your computer.
  3. Connect your adapter to OBDwiz software.

Change Bluetooth settings

If your OBDLink adapter is not displaying in the list, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices.

Bluetooth & devices menu with Devices highlighted.

Change Bluetooth devices discovery to Advanced.

Pair to your computer

Try connecting to your adapter again and it should be recognized.

Note: At first, your adapter may show as Not connected because it is not being actively used, as shown in the screenshot below. In this case, Windows 11 has paired to your adapter and the adapter is now in a standby state.

Continue with the next step to connect with OBDwiz software.

Connect with OBDwiz software

To connect to the OBDwiz app, place your adapter into pairing mode by pressing the Pair button.

Note: Even when you are connected in the OBDwiz app, you may notice a time delay before Windows shows that your adapter is connected.
