If you have an issue that you can’t resolve on your own, you can add a post on our OBDLink® Support Forum or submit a support ticket. Either of these options will give you the quickest response time. 


In some cases, our support team may ask you to create a debug log for further investigation. 

This article describes how to enable debugging and capture debug log information.


Before you begin, be sure to:

  • Start your vehicle and connect your phone/tablet to your OBDLink adapter.
  • Make sure your phone/tablet is not streaming to any other Bluetooth/BLE devices.


  1. Confirm that your phone/tablet is Connected to the OBDLink adapter.

  2. Tap Settings > Preferences > General and select Debugging Enabled

    Tap < several times to go back to the app Home screen.

  3. Close the OBDLink app. 

    iOS: Swipe up to open the app switcher and swipe up on the OBDLink app.

    Android: Tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the lower left corner and tap Exit.

  4. Open the OBDLink app and be sure your phone/tablet is Connected to the OBDLink adapter.

    Confirm that the issue occurs again.  

  5. Send the debug log to the Support team.

    iOS: Navigate to Logs > Messages, tap Menu in the upper right corner, then tap Send Debug Information.

    Android: On the app Home screen, tap the Menu icon (3 vertical dots) in the lower left corner and tap Send Debug Information.


    The app opens an email to our Support team with the debug log as an attachment. Please provide a detailed description of your issue in the email to help with troubleshooting.

After you've resolved your issues, you can disable Debugging mode. Tap Settings > Preferences > General and deselect Debugging Enabled
